October 14, 2014 SEARCH DEVOTEDLY
We have all been on a search for something at one time in our lives. It may have been as small as our keys or as important as a lost child. It is not a good feeling to search out something we desperately need and not be able to find it. We desperately need God. We desperately need His understand and wisdom. It’s not hard to find when we go to Him, read His word and are obedient to Him. When we search devotedly for God and the things He wants us to have, He will reveal them to us.
Ecclesiastes 1:13a “I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under heaven.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we devote ourselves to seeking Your understanding. We seek Your wisdom. We want to know You. We desperately need You. Guide us today. Reveal to us the meaning of Your word. Help us to seek out passages that will teach us more about wisdom and understanding. Help us to seek out Scripture that will tell us more about Your love and forgiveness. We hunger for You. We search devotedly for understanding and wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we search devotedly for God, we will find Him.
If we aren’t finding God, we aren’t really looking.
God is with us at all times. Getting to know Him and His will for our lives is actions we need to take on our part.
Devoting ourselves to learning more about God requires time every day in His word.
When we devotedly search for God, we will want to do His will.
Psalm 143:10 “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.” (NLT)
Focus: Devotedly searching for wisdom and understanding requires a great relationship with God.
