Yer inner voice!

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

This is a picture of the Mall -here--which collapsed!
--2 women were killed--amazing there weren't more---
To-day the task force looking into the collapse, are releasing their report.
This happened almost 3 years ago---
This is a perfect example to "listening to yer inner voice"---
I stopped parking on the rooftop parking area, many years before it fell in.
There was always a very evident water problem----it was common for large pieces of concrete to fall off the ceiling-pails were in every store collecting water , dripping from the roof--We still ran in and out of this mall, as we were told it was safe---
How crazy!
So when it caved in, we were not surprised!
Pretty sad! Even the chief engineer who inspected it within months of the cave-in, it turns out, was not honest.
So why did we continue to run through-?
Our library was in there on the top floor----There was a Dollarama, a large grocery store-a hotel---a restaurant--
We still don't have a Mall----It has never been rebuilt----
I shop a lot online----but--I wish that we had one large discount store---
I have learned to listen to that wee inner voice more----when things don't seem right--they usually aren't right----
So, if you hear of this report in your area, listen--and remember Elliot Lake----remember to act when things don't seem quite right----Your inner voice keeps you safe!-----It's time to get moving here-----and I have the FLU- ----and Fat Cat goes to the vet to-day to have blood work done-----Hopefully his Hyper-thyroid thing is calming down----Himself took the hose to the Sunroom carpet yesterday----(who puts a hose in yer house?)-
So-----It's another day----

Scary stuff, especially the dishonesty going back years over the inspection reports. It's a wonder more people weren't killed.

    Feel better soon,

Uh oh, I just shut my inner voice up with medication, now you are telling me I really WAS supposed to listen to it. OMG and the things it was telling me to do...well you just don't wanna know!!!! emoticon

Yes that very same thing happened to me yesterday at work. I did not trust my gut instinct and went with what someone else said instead of verifying it myself. emoticon Really should have trusted my first instinct, coulda saved me a bit of embarrassment. (I could not listen to my inner voice, remember medicated for that so I will call it instinct and not inner voice, thank you very much) emoticon

I think the big question to ask about Himself hosing down the Sunroom carpet is if the carpet is some kind of material (like indoor/outdoor stuff) that can be hosed. Not so weird or different it can be hosed. We had a screened in porch when I was a kid and for some strange reason my mother covered a beautiful flagstone floor with indoor/outdoor carpet down that looked like grass. She used to put the hose on it too and then try to sweep the excess water off with a broom. After a few years she had the carpet ripped up and wondered why the floor was discolored. emoticon I have eccentricity on both sides of the family but I don't think any of them ever heard inner voices emoticon

Time to get back to work for me. emoticon But just had to talk to you today. Does a day ever go by when I don't?

Have a lovely Wednesday and ONLY listen to your inner voice if it tells you true and positive things. If it tells you that you are Cleopatra or Marie Antoinette, then I think you're in trouble. emoticon

    great big emoticon emoticon

I remember hearing about the mall collapsing. My library is also in a mall that the roof leaks. Every time I go there and see the pails to catch water I think of your mall. Very scary.

Keeping my fingers crossed for fat cat. I have 2 of my own, love cats. (dogs too).

What a tragedy! Where are the architects and engineers involved in building a defective mall???

    Have an amazing day!

Yes, I see the "two volume" report is to be released today - two volumes to say that all the people who should have known better ignored the signs for years because of the cost of the necessary repairs needed. Money, money, money, the root of all evil as the old adage says!

Yikes - a hose in the sunroom - double yikes! But I guess it got the job done LOL!!!

You are so right, Lynda, to listen to that inner urging that we all are given. I can't help but wonder how much pain would be avoided, if only folks acted on those urgings.

    God bless your day!

YIKES, I've been reading about Elliot Lake and I'm so glad you stopped going to that mall -- the library would have been irresistible for me.

What a horrible thought, that we trusting Canadians believing in our "good government" would have been confident all the appropriate engineering and municipal inspections and so forth had been done. contrary to the evidence of our OWN EYES!!

    You are smart.

And thank goodness for online shopping: not entirely a substitute but better than nothing for sure.
