October 16, 2014 DEVOTEDLY GIVING

Many of us want to give but don’t. We think about giving but we hesitate. We plan to give but things come up. When we make giving a priority, we are devoting ourselves to God. We are devoting ourselves to be obedient to Him. We are devoting ourselves to putting Him first in our lives. Giving is a commandment and when we don’t give, we are disobeying. God doesn’t want our last. He wants our first. It’s really His anyway. When we give, we are showing devotion, obedient and gratitude to God.

2 Chronicles 31:4 “In addition, he required the people in Jerusalem to bring a portion of their goods to the priests and Levites, so they could devote themselves fully to the Law of the Lord.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for all You give us. You give us so much yet we forget to give a portion back to You as You have told us to. You give us so much yet we get busy and don’t give a portion back to You. You give us so much yet we use all that we have for ourselves and don’t give a portion back to You. Forgive us, Lord. We want to begin tithing today. Help us to prepare, plan and persist in our giving to honor, obey and be totally devoted to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If we are devoted to God, we will want to give.

A portion of what we have is required to give back to God.

Many things keep us from giving to God but it is a something we can decide to start today.

God wants our firsts. He wants the best of what we have. When we give, He can do great things with our giving.

Giving to God is a requirement of His people and honors Him.

Proverbs 3:9 “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.” (NLT)

Focus: Giving is a command from God and should be part of our plan in life.
