Sunday thoughts!

Sunday, October 19, 2014

And if we don't take care of ourselves, we won't stay strong!

Weekends are really justa 'nother day when it comes to counting calories---

It's been a week of surviving a flu bug---I think I am on top of it!
This weekend the post Blasto dog, we learned is afraid of wind---Crazy! The wind died down and she finally slept like a log all last night--Without sleep (as I was!)-makes it hard to ""Stay Strong"!

The Toronto waterfront marathon is on to-day---It sounds like fun! They have shut down the downtown area for this run!
And we are alive----eating squash and roast beef for supper---
Fat cat is fed----pretty skinny--but alive!
Son#2 the Air Canada Pilot is "winging" his way to Montreal-then Calgary---

I did it strong today!! 3 hours at the gym with younger daughter. Swimming, walking the track and recumbent bike while younger daughter did the elliptical. I could just see me on the elliptical with two bad knees. emoticon Younger daughter had fun even though the gym I go to is full of people my age and none of her age. We spent some quality time together which we don't get to do with her busy social schedule and she works two jobs, her full time job with a small company that does contracts for publishers and literary agents and her part time job working two evenings and occasional Saturday at a community college in the writing center. So we both got really good workouts today.

So Tess is afraid of wind. Welcome to the club. And Coal is afraid of thunderstorms. Our sheepdog is afraid of both and foil wrap and lights going out and candles and flashlights. If it is a particularly bad storm, the sheepdog will get the shepherd mix upset otherwise the only thing that gets the shepherd mix upset is the landline ringing. Howls like a banshee so when you answer the phone you can't hear who is calling which is usually someone fundraising so works for us. The mastiff is afraid of UPS/FedEx boxes and also foil wrap. How did we get the furbabies afraid of funky things????? Such is my lot in life emoticon

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!!

I'm so glad that Tess is "just" afraid of wind and not relapsing blasto! We had one collie that was so afraid of storms and yes, just wind too. I felt so bad for her....even when the furnace would blow warm air she would wake up and leave where she was looking above her like she was seeing ghosts!

    Enjoy your weekend, Lynda!

I think a lot of dogs are nervous in high windstorms -- post-tornado, we had a basset hound (Ambrose) who as absolutely petrified, and even Charlie, never having experienced any such trauma, is keen to get right inside in storms.

I really do think that my body should agree not to track calories on weekends . . . but it insists: oh well!!!!

I'm glad that Tess's problem appears to be wind-related rather than a revisit from Blasto. Isn't it funny how well they sleep immediately after they wake us up???

Hope your day is a beautiful one, Lynda. :)
