More than just the Winter Blues: SAD

Sunday, November 09, 2014

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is no myth. I first heard of it in 1978 and loved my light box till it and I got separated in a series of moves.

If you have seasonal depression or just hate winter, please look into SAD more. It is a very real form of depression.

One place to start is the article on SAD right here in the SparkPages. I hope to get a new light box for Christmas. But please consider it if you need one as their cost is low and varied. A few minutes of light therapy every day can do a world of good for your mood or to improve your sleep or reset your daily rhythms.

Funny...when Jesus the Light of the World is celebrated, my light may be here to benefit me.

My oldest son tends to get SAD. He is planning to get some of the all spectrum light bulbs.

Thanks for the information. I use the SAD light and am sure to get what sunlight or daylight I can get. Also, it's a great idea to get your Vit. D3 level checked. If it's low, that can cause depressed or sad feelings.
