As many of you know, I don't blog often no matter how much I tell myself I'm going to start. Well today, I'm too excited not to share this great news, but first, the back story.
At the end of January through the beginning of February 2013, my husband and I went on a trip to Vegas. It was our second time there, but it was more memorable than the first. Not in a good way. I knew I had gained since last time we went, (also the last time we traveled) but I was in for a rude awakening when I had to suck in every breath I had just to buckle the seatbelt on the plane on the way there. Thankfully my husband gave me the window seat so the overpouring of fat coming out of my seat was only in his space, not the person on the other side too.
The whole five days we were there, we were forced to take a cab almost everywhere, as I simply couldn't take walking for any period of time. This made the trip much less enjoyable, as I felt like I was taking away from the experience for both of us. This wasn't enough to make me change my eating habits, because after all, I was on vacation. Who can eat right on vacation?!
Well, on the plane ride home, I paid for the five days of gorging. I couldn't buckle my seatbelt at all. I refused to ask for an extender, so I just but my jacket on my lap and hid it from the stewardess. I was so mortified and never even told my husband. This is exactly the kick in the butt I needed though, and the very next morning I started this journey to change my life forever!
Fast forward 1 year and 9 months, and here I am, 120 lbs lighter! I have fought tooth and nail, but for the better part of the last year, I have maintained about a 110 lb. loss or more. I still have about 20-30 more lbs. I would like to lose, but I'm not killing myself to get there. I'm really happy with where I'm at, and I know how to stay here. I also know how to lose more when I'm ready to kick it in to high gear again.
So anyway, today I booked a trip BACK to Vegas for the end of January. I'm hoping with the new me, my husband and I will have new experiences and new memories that far surpass our last trip there. I'm planning on doing a bunch of walking and experiencing Vegas the way it was meant! I also can't wait to get on that plane and tighten that seat belt. I'm totally taking a picture of that too!
