Friday was a very quiet snow day here. We woke up to 8" or so after the Thursday snow and it pretty much snowed all day. Kids sledded, I shoveled and stayed warm in the house. In the midst of all that the decision was made to cancel our Presentation Night for co-op due to the bad roads. I knew exactly how right that choice was when I had to make the trek to the hospital on those roads.
Yep...back to the ER for dad to have them do an evaluation on the ankle as they thought an infection might be starting.
That was a good call on the nurses part because there was a slight one. Of course it took us 3 hours to get the information and be released! Xray and labwork. It was nice hearing that the surgeon did a beautiful job on the rebuild and it is good knowing the infection hasn't spread at all. They gave him a second antibiotic to take each day to fight it so it doesn't get out of control. I actually thought the ankle looked a lot better than it did on Tuesday when I first saw it. I slid home about 7 p.m.
Today has been a quiet day for me and I am gradually getting through my stack of paperwork. Due to the roads Tim was kind enough to go pick up our Bountiful Basket across town. I did head to the grocery store after breakfast, but it isn't that far from the house. Got those put away, laundry started and swept floors before settling down to go through receipts and pay bills. Couldn't put them in the computer as a recent Windows upgrade did something to our Quicken start up. Thankful I had a current backup as we broke down and bought the newest version and then just converted the file. It works nice and is a much cleaner screen than the very old one. So much of the finance stuff is done other than reconciling a couple of accounts and will do that tomorrow. I also got started on co-op stuff as Monday will be here soon and there was lots of discussion by email on what to do as far as rescheduling presentation night. Thankful everyone agreed to use the afternoon of our final Monday this month before December break as it will be a lot easier. Still not finished with all of it, but won't take long to do tomorrow.
We also had another major victory today.
Maegann is finally able to switch earrings without worry for the first time since this ordeal began in January! Glad we figured out the problem was a latex sensitivity so she can know things will be fine as long as she sticks with better metals. She was so thrilled to see some new decor on her ears today.
Tomorrow... church and getting the rest of my pile done. May put a Christmas movie on while I work.
