Cats in the Winter
Thursday, November 20, 2014
Winter is closing in even though it's only November. I feel concerned for my outdoor cat, Pumpkin, who sleeps in an outdoor shed at night that is mildly heated with one of those portable heaters. She seems fine, though, when I go to her in the morning, all curled up in her little bed. So I guess she is adjusting.
Last winter I brought her in the house when the weather turned brutally cold, and she did ok as long as the dogs were not in striking distance. Strangely, they accept Callie (the other cat) in the house but not Pumpkin. Callie spends about half the day outside--we have a large property in the woods so she knows her boundaries--but sleeps in the house at night.
Today it's shopping and later a hair appointment, desperately needed!
My cold is finally winding down, thank heaven.
Next week it's Thanksgiving prep time. Oh joy!
