How can I set myself up for success even if I indulge a little on Thanksgiving?
Today is Sunday, the Sunday before the biggest eating holiday of the year. I plan on drinking and drinking and drinking a lot of water today. I also have filled my refrigerator with fresh veggies, leafy greens and fruit. I have beans on hand and lean meats also. I plan on filling my body all week of these fresh things more than usual. Not only to use them up before my out of state trip, but to really feel good by Thursday. I do usually eat this stuff but vary the meals up more. But I figured by the time the BIG MEAL rolls around I will want to eat it but too much will come so much faster and I am less likely to over eat. Besides...having nature's little broom already on back up in my system will help get the Big Meal out of my body and not hang on to it making me feel guilty for days. So Salad week starts today and ends Wednesday night. Can't hurt to try this experiment.
This week I had an infection in my toe. Hurt real bad. I managed to get all the puss out and get it all good again. I will still have the doctor check it and my sinus' on Wednesday just to be safe. Simple wounds or even in grown toenails are nothing to mess with when you are a diabetic! Fix them as fast as you can!!! You can potentially lose digits or a limb if you ignore them or don't keep on top of them! I take wounds very seriously. I have seen too many people have things amputated for something small and simple that could have and should have been taken care of. Don't try to fix it yourself with out a background in the medical field. Even if you do have a background in it, have yourself checked by another medical professional just to be safe and sure.
Today, is a day to gather thoughts, rest, watch movies, make lists, drink water and eat salad lol. Tomorrow turn those lists into action!
