My week without wheat

As promised, I am writing to share my wheat-free week with you...you luck ducks!
It was not difficult; certainly not as difficult as going 'gluten-free'. I saw a small half-pound improvement on the scale. My belly felt less 'spongy' which is what motivated me to do this in the first place. I had more than my usual amount of energy and passed on a nap 2 days in a row. In fact...I went to the gym after work for an hour without having to take a nap! (just a reminder, I am up at 4:45am every day!) I replaced my standard breakfast cereal with delicious rolled oats. Let me tell you...I was not hungry at my usual snack time so I cut my morning snack in half. I scoured items for lunch that were wheat free (not difficult) and at dinner, I replaced the hamburger bun with a bed of mixed greens. Yeah, not the same, but yummy nonetheless.
The first two days I did not notice any mental or emotional effects, but on day 3, I was in a bit of a funk. My brain was fuzzy and I felt so tired. I don't know if there is any correlation, but I definitely felt like I was having a little withdrawal; this resolved itself in a day or two. One 'side effect' I was not crazy about? I was not regular. My usual breakfast is the perfect balance of fiber, protein, and fruit. The oatmeal did not afford me a 'daily constitutional'. So, just for giggles, I returned this morning to my usual breakfast and lo...peace reigns in the kingdom! Thanks Flax Plus!!!
To sum things up, I am going to avoid wheat as much as possible, with the exception of my trusty breakfast!
