Things have been going pretty well here since starting my Spark break until January so I decided it was time for an update.
Rod’s hand surgery is scheduled for December 8, operating on both hands at the same time because he’s a type 1 diabetic and it’s better not to have to go under general anesthetic twice if it can be done once instead. I’ll feel better after it’s over but doing it that soon means we will be able to go to spend Christmas with my son and grandson in New Mexico as we had hoped.
Between bouts of rain I’ve been busy cutting back the perennials in our flower garden out front and trying not to kill anything. I’m not a gardener so am looking everything up - I’ve never been fond of the “learn by doing” method.
Yesterday I decided I should spend some of my time getting back into the habit of exercise so I started with a 15 minute “Core Workout for Beginners” (something “short and simple”)
I made a discovery.
15 minutes is NOT short and the workout was NOT simple
I think I finished about 5 minutes before giving up
Boy, am I out of shape!
So today I decided on trying Jessica Smith’s “No Nonsense Walking Workout in 30 minutes.”
I can walk outside for longer than 30 minutes but after about 5 minutes with Jessica I was done!
So I’ve discovered I’m much more out of shape than I thought I was.
And I’m apparently back at square 1 in workout stamina.
I’m planning on joining the “Y” in January
I have some Paul Eugene chair exercise video’s bookmarked on my computer so maybe I’ll try that tomorrow. His routines aren’t easy though
Is any of this?
It would be nice to not constantly feel like I’m taking one step forward and two steps back.
Forward is better.
