I love the new SP app and layout. I was on this site a long time ago and now it makes it so much easier to watch my numbers.
Of course it's really only one number - 3500. The magic number that can add or take away poundage from my body. To lose a pound a week, I just need to cut 500 calories a day. That is less that ONE big mac, without fries and a drink! On the flip side, you would have to eat 29 CUPS of tossed salad to get close to 500.
When people say that they lose weight by tracking calories, it is SO true. You can do like I was doing - exercising every day, but then eating up the difference when I got home at night. THAT isn't going to happen for me anymore.
I'm playing the numbers. If I get hungry, and I think I want something to eat - I plug in into my food log and see how the numbers work out. If they don't, then I find something else to eat or just drink more water.
Trust your body too. When you stop eating heavy sweets like candy, it will start not tasting as good. I'm craving salads more and love them! Things like fast food actually make me feel queasy thinking about eating them. I didn't think I would ever say that but it's true!
Use the tools that SP give you and you will go far! Pay the numbers and win (or better yet, lose!)
