Day 562: Windy Day--

Saturday, January 10, 2015

Is it ever! We're in a flat plain - that is, Cheshire is a flat plain - of sorts, and the air currents travel from the Irish Sea, sweeping across Cheshire, until they bump up against the hills of Lancashire and Derbyshire. That's why this area gets so much rain. So they tell me.

And yes, we've had that today, too, by the bucketful.

Back to the washing machine: yes, it came with the apartment, so it technically belongs to the landlords. If I don't have more success with it soon, I'm going to ask them to take it back - use it in another of their properties - sell it on Craigslist - something, anything, but to please get it out of here so I can get myself a proper stacked set. Which will fit neatly into the cupboard space currently occupied by the demon washer.

Saturday night is treat night at our house. I made a Spark recipe, "Brownie in a Mug," that I had my doubts about but that both of us thought was pretty good. The recipe:

recipes.sparkpeople.com/
recipe-detail.asp?recipe=8
3254

The photo on the recipe page annoys me, because no way will it look like that after having cooked in a mug. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a (more or less) 100-calorie treat, this might just be the ticket.

* * *

Housekeeping, eBay (selling, not buying), laundry (!), a couple of phone calls, and picking up a few groceries - not the busiest of Saturdays, but at least some catching-up was achieved.

And with that, I'm calling it a day. G'night, Sparklers, wherever you are!

We had horrific winds last week with the horrific cold that is still lingering around us. But at least the winds are gone.
I fix egg in a mug often using egg beaters and anything else I want in i and a bit of whole wheat bread broken up in pieces in it as well. It's a great quick breakfast. One of the many HUNGRY GIRL.com recipes. She's great !!!

Hope you get that emoticon washer replaced soon !!!

    Have a great Sunday !!!

Wow! I made the brownie in a mug, too - great minds do think alike!
We're having wind here - in fact, the wind chill was -20 here last night. Not a lot of snow, about 6 inches. It's different about 30 miles north in Lake Erie's snow belt - they have a lot of snow.
The actual temp was -4 when I went out to get my mail around noon today. We are supposed to have a heat wave tomorrow and be one degree below freezing! Hopefully, the wind will have died down.

No rain here---and thankfully no snow either, but cold as heck---which is unusual for us---so I have hibernated all day and done household chores and organizing some things---hope you can get them to remove that demon so that you can get something that really works.

I've stared at the Brownie in a Mug recipe more than once but fear it would send me off on a binge. Sweet Dreams.
