It was still cold today, but I thought that I would at least try to do a little Cross Country Skiing through our woods and into the fields behind our home. We finally have enough snow to make this possible. I was very tentative because of the bursitis in my left hip. I have done the Physical Therapy for the past two months and continue to do prescribed exercises at home. I planned to take it slow to see how much the hip could handle without pain. I kept thinking about what my brother had said to me this morning when I told him that I was going to get the skis out. He said that if I was going to try Cross Country Skiing, to be sure to pick a small country!!! He thinks that he is so funny; but he also knows how rough the past few months have been and didn't want me to do too much too soon and undermine all of the PT. I managed to get all the way through the woods, but instead of going out into the fields, I retraced my steps and only stayed out for about an hour. I can feel the fatigue in my legs and hips tonight, but so far so good re: the pain.
Baby steps...........I don't want to have to start all over again to mend my hip.
