A belated New Year's resolution – somewhat unexpectedly

So, it's been more than one and a half years since I re-ignited my Spark and I haven't been blogging here because not many of my old Spark friends are still around to read my blog. But today I got it into my head I would make a New Year's resolution. Me of all people, I never make New Year's resolutions because I believe they are mostly made to be forgotten about a couple of weeks later.

But today as I looked at my Fitbit stats from last year I realised something neat: I walked more than 3,200 kilometers in 2014, which converts to a little over 2,000 miles. So I thought that was a nice little coincidence and I would make that my goal for this year: To walk 2,015 miles in 2015. And – to keep myself accountable – here it is, black on white. I would have to average 8.88 kilometers or 5.52 miles a day. I know that's an ambitious goal and I will only make it if my ostheoarthritis does not act up again. But I'm excited to try it. And I intend to enjoy every mile of it!

    I hear you on the old Spark friends. I was just thinking about that. I am still here and active.

    I have a fitbit now and I love it. I had a Spark tracker that started me going for more walks, but sadly the dongle stopped working after I bought two more back up batteries that I can not use now. LOL Like the fact the fitbit is rechargeable and the dongle continues to worjavascript: void(0);k fine.

    Depending on how you feel from day to day--on the days you feel strong, you can round up your mileage.
    Feeling good? Then hit the 5.5mile mark or even 5.6 mile mark. Then on the days when you can't quite hit that far, you've got that little bit extra 'banked" toward your goal.
