Things I am doing this weekend other than eating

I feel like all I ever think about is food. When I think about the weekend I think about what yummy things I will get to eat or where I will dine, things like that. Since it's Friday I decided to make a list right now off the top of my head of things I will do this weekend besides eat. I really need to start REDIRECTING my thoughts when it comes to food. Food should just be something we NEED rather than want..it is so hard to switch my lifestyle but I really think I'm slowly starting. This website has helped out alot with my efforts. A friend of mine has a blog about things to do other than eating and that is where I got this idea! So here I go...
Take a long stroller walk
Clean out my linen closet
pull my scrapbooking stuff out
Write a letter to someone
Oh wow this is much harder than I thought...I keep thinking things like, go out to dinner, go grocery shopping..hmmm it's hard to come up with things. I have no plans this weekend so it's going to be hard to not eat. I have been doing okay the past couple weeks though. I used to eat real bad at night, and now I've started to do the redirection thing and that works quite well, I find something else to occupy my time like read a book. I am starting to realize that I will not be skinny overnight..this is going to be a gradual change and I know I will get there someday....thanks for listening to me ramble if you've made it this far!

    Good luck hon. You are on the right path. I promise. And I know how it feels. Iam on my 4th day and im actually doing alot better. I dont think about food near as much as I did before I started this change in my life.

    Hello, you've made the right move and have the right Idea, Suggestion is since you thank about food alot, Write down a weekly meal plan and weekly dessert plan and present it to your family to find out what days they want to eat like a resturant only your the cook! Replace your thinking about food with a chore, Like at night if I find myself in the fridge, I grad the broom and sweep and sometimes mop. This has happened quite often in the last 3 weeks, but I am not eating at night, I am lazy and do not want to sweep or mop so I tell myself if you don't want to sweep don't go there! I find that drinking water will help. Anywho, lets redirect our thoughts and get rid of the stinkin thinkin. LOL.
