What is my true motivation?
Sunday, February 01, 2015
SparkCoach asked the question about what is my true motivation for my fitness and weight loss goals. I truly felt stumped by this question. In the past, I would have said my goal was to lose “x” amount of pounds, but the point of the question was to get to the deeper reason for the goal. The truth is that I’m not sure I can give an accurate sincere reason because I’ve been on auto-pilot for so long with respect to caring for my family, working, single parenthood, and specific crises that occurred during recent years. I lost myself in the mix.
However, I believe I am ready to explore my motivation because in doing so, I believe I may be more successful in building the lifestyle that will support me in achieving my goals. So for today, I will accept the lack of a good answer to the question, “what is my true motivation for my fitness and weight loss goals” and actively pursue a fundamental answer that is my truth. As a woman in her later 50’s, with kids that are almost grown, this is a great time for me to explore what I want my life to look like as I have the freedom (and health
) to create a new chapter in my life.
