A great start to March and a new home gym!

This month has really started out pretty well, and I'm proud of my progress in continuing to improve my health. I got back in the gym, and as always, I feel SO much better. Also, the scale has started to move for the first time in a while. I'm down to 185.4, and I'm confident I'll be able to move my "ticker" soon.

Although I do love going to the gym, I've been doing 90% of my workout on my lunch hour. I take my lunch from 3-4 and leave at 5, so it's not the end of the world if I sweat. I rinse off in the shower quick and get back to work for the last hour. My intention was to work out after work too, but that is REALLY hard to do. I have two kids at home and already have a 35 minute commute, so getting home at 5:35-5:40 ish is already a challenge with preparing 2 different dinners, homework with kids, showers, laundry, etc, The couple of times I have stayed over to workout, I'm getting home near 7 and I feel like I can't catch up. Also, no one in my house but me will eat leftovers and they are sick of cold meat sandwiches. lol.

So anyway, my oldest moved out a couple of months ago (not on good terms, but that's another story) which freed up a bedroom. Not a bedroom so much as a huge open room. My son took my daughters room and I'm going to turn his in to a home gym. I started cleaning last weekend to get rid of all my son's things in the room, and I'm hoping to finish up this weekend. Thank goodness big trash pickup is next month!!

I don't have any exercise equipment except for a couple of yoga mats, some weights and a couple of kettlebells, so this 12X25 room was going to be looking pretty bare. After saying something to my mom and sister about my plans, they offered up some of the equipment they don't use. This brought me up to a gazelle, another type of resistance glider and an ab lounge. ALL FREE! My favorite! As many of you know I'm obsessed with deals and bargains, and I have purchased some other equipment on some pretty good deals I'm excited about too. I got a great deal on a twist stepper and a rowing machine on amazon, and today I got a REALLY great deal on a Proform elliptical on Groupon!! I seriously can't wait to get everything set up and going. This will allow me to get my kids/hubby's stuff done when I get home and still have some time for me but be available if they need me. It will also solve my weekend problem, as my work is too far away to go to the gym on my days off. As long as the weather stays so crappy, this creates a huge burden, as I never want to go outside.
