March 10, 2015 A KIND OF FRUIT

There are many types of fruit. Some that are especially good for us and have many great benefits when we eat them. However, they can only benefit us if we eat them. Knowing about the fruit, holding it or looking at it won’t help us get the nutrients it provides. However, when we consume it – consume it daily – that is when we reap the true benefits of the fruit. The Holy Spirit produces fruit in each of us. It is up to us to make it grow or just let it be. Patience is a kind of fruit produced in our lives.

Galatians 5:22 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for Your fruits produced in our lives. Help us to focus on all of them and to depend on You to give us strength to practice them daily. Today, we especially pray for patience. Patience with ourselves. Patience with others. Patience with situations. We can choose today to be impatient and get upset over everything or we can choose patience in all things. Help us today to use the fruit of patience in our lives and share it with others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The fruit of patience will bear more fruit in others when we choose to share it with them.

When we encounter issues and problems, we can choose to blow up or we can choose to practice patience.

When we are a godly example to others by practicing patience, we can show them how to do the same.

When we are confronted by an obstinate person, we can choose to fight back or we can choose to practice patience.

We can produce a great deal more when we use patience in our planting.

Luke 8:15 “And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.” (NLT)

Focus: God wants us to use the fruit of patience daily and plant the seed of patience in the lives of others.
