A day of baking....

I think most folks know I live in the country and keep chickens...

the result of that is....



about a dozen a day..that does not count goose eggs and duck eggs..sigh! I used to have

a fairly good market for all of them, but that seems to have faded out. My girls do not know

that so they keep doing their job!! Today I dedicated myself to recipes that used LOTS of

eggs! I used 18 in recipes that called for a dozen, Angel food cakes...3 of 'em. Then Lemon

bars..used 6 instead of 4...made up 6 to mix with the dogs food and scrambled a dozen to

feed back to the girls! And still I have 2 packs of 18 and put 2 dozen new eggs in the fridge

today!! I cannot donate them..thought I could but cannot since I am not certified..sigh!

I understand but it is frustrating...I have healthy free range non chemical fed eggs and cannot

even give them away...something wrong with that don't ya think!!

Ok..this is not the venue for venting this...just wanted to let ya know what I did today!!

This type of baking is not the kind where you taste test things so I got thru the day without

a huge caloric debt.except for the couple of lemon bars I munched out on!!

I was on my feet and in the kitchen most of the day , actually feel like I did a heavy work out.

Only my heart knows I didn't...so I need to go dance with Mr T...then shower , relax a bit and

tuck my weary lil self in bed.

Twas a good day...kinda a fun day..I love to bake and see others enjoy my product! So that

was a really good thing. I did not get out and get my exercise like I should..so that was a

not so good thing..tomorrow however will be a new day and you will find me outside doing

farm chores and enjoying the warm Spring like day!! I hope you get a chance to do the same!
