So happy to have sunshine!

Mmmm well can you be both? Silly question as I am..did more than I usually do..part of which involved climbing up and down on a smallish ladder, just a couple of steps then stretch..
multiple times. I was repairing an outside light and also trimming the door frame where the winter water had caused some warping. It doesn't sound like much but tis fine work..well sorta.
you don't want to sand off too much then the door jam will leak but it must be enough for the door to swing without resisitance.. hee hee..OK carpentry 101 done for the day.

I also trimmed nails on my pups and did some fur trimming on Chuee. I am thinking those groomers earn their money..hours on your feet twisting and turning to get those dogs beautiful. Chuee does seem to appreciate it though..he is not nearly as hot as he had been. I thought the panting was from him being a bit chubby , once I cut off 1/2 of his fur he is now much less of a chunky boy! He and I need to start our emoticon now that the roads are "walkable".

Eating was ok..today..not excellent but not off the charts either.

Say did anyone else watch the show about the Greek Island where most folks live to be well over 100? It was interesting..probably will cause a flood of Amercians there seeking a long life...too late !!! If you have not lived their lifestyle all of your life it is probably a lil late now.

Just simplicity ...eat what you grow..only eat what is fresh..lots of veggies LOTS!! the kids consider a tomato to be an afternoon snack or treat! I don't think I saw a single potato..but some pasta, home made of course! They also make their own wine..and consume a glass each PM to relax?? why they need to relax I am not sure! but a sip of wine and the sun setting in the ocean is how the evening goes...no nitely news..no rush in traffic ..no rush period. You can put your watch away and adopt the mentality of "if not today then perhaps tomorrow"..that would be a rough one for many of the driven- achievement focused types here in the good ole USA!! Not a lot of animal protein..some eggs and chicken made into large dishes to serve to the entire family ..and that also is another aspect of life. The family group..grand parents fully involved with grandkids lives..big family dinners where all are present! It in many ways sounds idolic, however I suspect that people from here would soon go bonkers if they had a sudden immersion into this culture. Cute story ...a woman that was 104 went to the bank for a loan...they apologized but could not give her a loan as their cut off age was 103! They have their own honey..which of course is bees fed on the natural organic vegetables and fruit and nuts that they grow there! The honey is the only sweet that is mentioned ..not much in the way of sugary treats at all..thas a good thing! So having had your visit to the island...would you want to live there? Hmm would have to kidnap all of my family and take them with me ...might be fun!!!

On a bit more realistic side of things since most of us will NOT be moving to any of the Greek islands soon.. A good attitude makes things much better and eating right and moving usually contribute to an improvement in health and attitude! AM I right?? Check it out!!

There we go , everything we need to know to make us get up and keep moving!!

Ready to tuck 'er in..been a busy and lovely day!!

I don't know if I would like the Greek island. I live more simply than many, but not like that. I'd have to be in MUCH better shape to grow all my own food. It's interesting to ponder though.

I really don't know if I'd like living full time on an island, even if it was a BIG one. I have friends that just bought a place in Ecuador but I think they are only going to go there for a few months in the winter. Hope they don't leave permanently.

    Wonderful, thought-provoking blog!

I know it would be hard for me to adapt to that type of lifestyle, but I would give it a try.... Especially sipping wine and looking over the sea! I do not eat as clean as I can, but I do try to keep a good attitude and reduce stress and if I cannot reduce it, I work with it! Glad you have a sunshiney day full of projects to keep you busy!

I didn't see the show, but it does sound like a wonderful way to live :)
And speaking of growing... I'm waiting for the snow to disappear so we can start getting our garden ready!
Sounds like a good, busy day for you.... here's to a great week now!
