March 16, 2015 GOD IS PATIENT

We are created in God’s image but we are not God. We don’t have the ability to create life, death or even the resurrection. God did create in us the ability to be like Him in human form but we aren’t completely pure and perfect as Jesus is. We can’t walk on water, completely heal the dead nor do any other miracles as He did. However, we are very blessed God is good. And especially that He is slow to anger. And we can strive to be patient like the example He has given us in Him.

Numbers 14:18a “The LORD is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for Your patience. We know You could easily wipe out this world. We know there is so much sin in it – enough to make anyone angry. Yet You continue to love us and be patient with us. Help us to learn from Your patience and to be obedient to You so we can show love and forgiveness to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God shows us patience when we act foolishly and we should show patience to others when they do the same.

We are blessed God is slow to anger and forgives.

God is patient. He is good. Rather than forget that, let’s remember it and remind others.

We should know God isn’t slow about anything. He is patient and does everything in His own time.

We should be thankful God is patiently waiting and giving others an opportunity to repent.

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” (NLT)

Focus: God’s patience allows us to turn from wrong and repent while there is still time.
