You're so vain, you probably think this blog is about you

I have a problem as I age. The older I get the more negativity I am surrounded by from other women due to vanity. The biggest part of the problem is that it is so far from something I understand that it makes me uncomfortable. Then when I make a negative comment towards these miracle products and medical procedures they all talk about getting, I become the social pariah. Yes, we all have flaws and we all have parts of our body we don't think are awesome. That's natural. But what else is natural is your body. Why would you want to pump it full of deoxycholic acid or botulism? Why do you sit there and talk so negative about a single tooth in your mouth or a few grey hairs?
This is a huge cultural problem that needs to stop! All of these women have young and impressionable daughters. What do you think these little girls will think about themselves when they are teens? Are they going to be able to love themselves for how they are? Saying and doing are two different things. If you tell children to love themselves and then bemoan about your own physical being they will watch what you do not listen to what you say.
Also, for me it is so emotionally draining. I am an empath and people's negativity really affects me. This entire region I live in is so negative. You can feel the weight bearing down on you when you enter the Delta. It's so sad. For my physical, mental, and spiritual well being I do hope to find new employment soon so I can leave.
