Helpful info requested on an Elimination Diet?

The saying: "Sick and tired of being sick and tired" certainly applies to my struggle with CFS! And there are times where I am just desperate and will be willing to almost do anything to feel better. I have been in a bad crash for almost a month now. I am doing better, but still not up to par.

I have recently been researching and reading more about the possiblity of trying an elimination diet to see if I have any food sensitivities. It's not that this hasn't come up before in my trying to keep up to date on CFS research, but it always seemed to impossible to give up so many foods at once. However, when I feel so crappy, I start to wonder if there was a way for me to feel better, shouldn't I try it?

Evenso, the elimination diets still seem very daunting, so if I decide to do it, I want to go into it as educated and prepared as I can be. There seems to be some confusing information out there too. Like how long you should do it for? I've read from 10 days to 30 days. Some foods are included in some info and excluded in others (i.e. beans, nuts, beef, pork, etc.)

So I am putting this out there. Please if anyone has done an elimination diet, could you share what you eliminated? How long did you do it? And were any improvements really obvious to you? Any other information or helpful tips would be appreciated too.

    I haven't done one myself, but I have family members with food allergies. So I know sometimes you need to do this!
