Perfectionism In An Imperfect World
Friday, April 17, 2015
This week I had two days on which I exceeded my calorie goals for the day. Because I have been within my goal range for so many weeks, I was disappointed that I had allowed myself to go over.
My tendency toward perfectionism has not served me well in many areas of my life in the past, including my previous weight loss efforts, so this time I am going to heed the advice of Robert Silliman Hillyer who said "Perfectionism is a dangerous state of mind in an imperfect world. The best way is to forget doubts and set about the task in hand... If you are doing your best, you will not have time to worry about failure." I am accepting responsibility for the slip and then moving on to the task at hand.
