The Ups & Downs

I cannot wait until I finish my schoolwork tonite! Then I have a week off from school. I am so stinking looking forward to some time where I can just stop and do what I want. Not what I have to do.
This morning, I really didn't feel like going to the gym. It was a kickboxing class and I do enjoy it, but it's at 8am on Sunday morning and I kind of wanted to sleep in. I know if I sleep in, I'll sleep way to late and not get anything useful done and I'll be kicking myself for it. So, i checked facebook to see if class was still on (part of me hoping it was cancelled) and it was still a go. I crawled out of a comfy bed where I was being snuggled by my pup and got dressed and ready to go. Got to the gym and there were very few of us there. Classes are getting smaller now that the weather is getting better and children are doing their activities. So it was worth getting up. not my most active kickboxing class, but a good one nonetheless. I do like punching a bag and getting out some aggression. I spoke with the trainer and since I have free time this week, I'm going to try to get into her Tues nite class. But I will be late and I needed to make sure she didn't mind that too much. No problem! Then I got home at 9:15ish and bf and the pup were still in bed. Cat came by looking for food but I figured while it was early and no one was up, I'd get in a run. So out I went. It was a very up time because my road is so hilly. I haven't been able to make all of the hills yet in a run. Even when I shorten it to a 2 mile run instead of 3. I was doing all 3 today and to get up that last hill at mile 2.5 ish, I have to go mailbox to mailbox. I can get to that next mailbox and today I had 2 mailboxes left to the top. I had to stop cause my stomach was starting to turn and there's no reason to let anything happen like that. So, I was just shy of that super tough hill by 2 mailboxes. I'm super proud of that. It's not easy and taking time to tackle. But now I'm confident that the next run is all mine. Then I can start to work on the speed of the run all the way through the hill.
The down is now. Homework. I always get super antsy and stressed during homework time. It is not awesome. So then I eat. We don't have much healthy food in the house since I've been doing work constantly for the last week so I ate a less than healthy lunch which was fine. It happens. But then I ate some animal crackers. Ok, too many. And I know it won't end with that. I'm sure I'll be doing terrible for the rest of the day since this work just really gets to me. I don't have enough hands to eat good food. Another reason to be so looking forward to being done with this term and getting in a healthy eating week.
On the positive side, bf and I were headed into Boston to see the Red Sox play. Our 1st trip to the park this year. We headed out early since I knew it was Boston Marathon weekend and the city would be packed but I did not take a look at where the Marathon madness was going to be occurring. We like to park at the Prudential Center when going to the game because its a nice little walk to the park and they discount game day parking. Guess where the Expo was?!?! You got it - at the Prudential Center. We did not get our discounted parking but we did find a spot. Took forever to get through the masses of people so we just parked anywhere. Since we happened to be in the area, we walked to the finish line so I could really feel the excitement. It's an amazing place to be at this time. People are so happy and excited and feeling the strength of a city that can come back from a major attack. It made for a great day!
While I have no plans on ever running the Boston Marathon, it was a great experience! And if you notice the purple jackets with orange stripes, those are the runners wearing the jacket for this year. Very cool.
