Recommendations for Activity Trackers

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

For my upcoming birthday my husband would like to get me an activity tracker. I am excited about it, but totally overwhelmed when I look at everything that is available. I have read numerous reviews and still have no idea what I should get.
Up to now I have been using a basic pedometer which has served me well, but I want to step it up a bit.
I do not want to pay $ 250.00, and I really don't need ALL the bells and whistles. I would like to get a tracker that could also be used for swimming laps.
At this point I am considering a Fitbit or a Garmin Vivofit.
I would love it if I could get some recommendations. Thank you so much for considering helping me out.

I have a Spark Tracker and it works just great for tracking walking and so forth. It does not track my chair exercises but it does a great job for the price that you pay for it and it's super simple to use. A dear Spark Friend got mine for me but if it ever dies, I will replace it with another of the same. Hope that gives you some helpful info!

Last time I looked on here the spark tracker was 40 dollars plus 4 shipping. I love mine it is water roof when swimming. I heard of others using it for that emoticon

I have a VivoFit and a Spark tracker. The Spark tracker is simple, easy, sincs automatically with my SP account. Since my surgery, I am rebuilding my stamina so I haven't worn my VivoFit. I don't know if I will again. Yes, it gave me more information, but really, if you track what you do here on SP, all you really need is the SP tracker and SP fitness tracker, plus, and this may sound odd, but I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but I do like to wear bracelets, and I couldn't wear ithem with the VivoFit. I'll stick with the SP Activity tracker!

If you don't want to spend that much money there are some pocket pedometers that you can link up to the computer. Amazon has several.

Fitbit all the way! Have had the flex bracelet for 2 years... No problems. Not sure you'd find any that you can use swimming. You can get I wet, but not like that. I like mine since it records your sleep too! My next one will be the HR from fitbit. I'm glad you want to step it up! You can do it!! 👍

I have a Fitbit Flex and I love mine. It's not fancy, but it does everything I need it to do. If you think you might want to do HIIT workouts, I'd suggest the Fitbit Charge HR, though, since it has the heart rate monitor. Whenever I upgrade, that's what I"ll be upgrading to!
