So many exciting things to look forward to for the remainder of 2015. But the things I'm most excited about are youngest son's wedding in August and running the MDI Half Marathon in October with granddaughter, McKenzie.
I'm hoping to lose 30 more lbs by the wedding and I plan to do that by a sensible, healthy eating plan and a whole lot of exercise.
I walk just about every day, but the actual training for the half marathon begins in two weeks and I will be doing a run/walk type of training. I'm also starting a new ST program and schedule also 3x a week.
But my REAL and FUN exercise will be working outside doing some landscaping of our property. Specifically keeping the garden going and repairing the stone wall at the front of our property. I don't know how long the stone wall has been there but I do know it's over 100 years old and probably a lot older. There are many stone wall here in this small rural town that were used by the early settlers as property lines.
When we bought and cleared this land 30 years ago, we uncovered the stone wall, but through the years the weeds, leaves, trees and vines have taken over. Now it's time to restore it to it's original state. It's going to be quite a project but I'm really looking forward to getting out in the fresh air and sunshine and getting fit .
These are pictures of what the stone wall looks like right now:
this is looking from the front lawn toward the neighbor's house across the road.
This is the stone wall on the right side of the driveway looking toward our house
And the left side of the driveway. The house on the left side of the picture is the one my youngest daughter and family are building to replace their home that burned last year.
Plus, just to keep me from getting bored with my "retirement", I'm also planting 3 small flower gardens, a straw bale vegetable garden and a pumpkin patch.
And I think I'll sand, repair and paint my little bench in my spare time. LOL
