Day 5: DDPyoga

This morning we decided to move on to Below the Belt. Wow, this workout kicked my butt... literally. This workout, as it implies, is all lower body. Well none of his workouts are ALL that section of the body, but that was the focus. What I learned by the end, I need to modify more of the moves in this series and work my way into it. My hips were SCREAMING at me by the time we were done. I also learned that we need to start moving some furniture, because I didn't have room in my little area to do 2 moves while my husband was taking up the entire living room space doing them himself. I found when I did make room for myself I can't lift my right leg at all into the one position. I will need to work on that. I can do the left just fine.

I really can't believe how much I sweat doing these workouts. I've done ashtanga yoga before and know sweating happens in yoga. BUT, we are in an air conditioning and not holding poses long or doing anything crazy. Sweat drips off my face. Pours down from my forehead. Soaks my sports bra. It's amazing!

Other things that came to the forefront during this workout, I haven't done yoga in far too long and cannot do moves with the ease I used to be able to. Wow, where did my balance go? My feet were also aching after a couple positions. My husband warned me that the first step is rough going down the stairs to leave our apartment. Oh, yeah... thigh muscles didn't want to support the knee at all!

My brother checked in on us this morning and our progress. He has been going strong with the program for almost 3 months now. He was impressed by my results after 1 week. He said I was going strong in the paint. He had to ease in the first couple weeks with his back problems. I'm proud of me and hubby so far! I can't wait to see where this takes us.
