Thought and Prayer for Sunday, June 7, 2015

Sunday, June 07, 2015

A lot of people don’t understand the benefit of going to church and even more people don’t go to small group or Sunday School. They have their reasons and this is not to judge them but to help them understand the importance of fellowshipping and communicating with other believers. When we take time out of our week to meet with fellow followers of Christ, we gain so many blessings. Sharing our life with those who love the Lord helps us and helps them in so many ways. Decide to visit a church and get to know some fellow believers and see just how much God blesses your life.

James 5:16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know the importance of church and that You would not have created it many years ago if You didn’t believe it was important for Your followers to go. Help us to share with others why they need to go to church. Help us to purposely meet new people at church, attend small group and share our concerns and our sins with our small group. We know You will allow them to help us and us to help them. There is so much power in Your word and in Your people who have faith in You. Thank You, Lord, for the faithful people who attend church and follow You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Decide to visit a church and get to know some fellow believers and see just how much God blesses your life.

When we share our burdens and sins with one another, we open up a floodgate of prayers to God.

Not going to church because we are too busy means we don’t have time for God or other believers.

When we take time to go to church and invite others as well, we are building God’s kingdom in heaven.

When someone confesses their sins to us, we should openly pray for them and forgive them.

Matthew 18:15 “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.” (NLT)

Focus: We can learn so much about others Christians and their needs when we take time to go to church.
