One Step at a time

Well I went shopping yesterday and got some stuff to make some homemade Mexican cuisine. I have been craving some Mexican lasagna and I looked up some healthier recipes for different things you can put in it. While some of the stuff I got was canned, I know I do not have to use all of it and I can put healthier things in it as well.

I'm off to a good start for being back on track since vacation. I've lost a pound! Which I know may not sound like a lot, but coming off of the vacation and then diving head first back into work and school had been a little tougher than I originally thought.

Planning on meal prepping tonight with some ground turkey and with some taco seasoning. They make it with no salt now which I thought was amazing! Even though I know I can make it myself, but it's always good to know you can go to the store and by the same thing if you need to. Homemade taco salads with wheat tortillas and smothered burritos are in my near future! I think I might also grill up some chicken and cook up some whole wheat noodles so I can switch out what I want to eat.

I really have found a new motivation that I was lacking during the last few months. It's summer time and I want to go down to the pool. I also had a heart doctor appointment to look at this palpitation I've been having from time to time. He said that everything sounds fine and my EKG came back completely normal and that I should have nothing to worry about because I am very active at work and it's not causing me any discomfort other than freaking me out when it happens. Which tells me when I go to the gym I can push myself harder, as long as I don't over do it.

That was the go ahead I needed to make sure I wouldn't do any damage to one of my most vital organs if there was something wrong that I didn't know about. emoticon

I've got until August to drop some inches and weight before my next vacation down to South Carolina and two of my friends are getting married a week apart. I guess I am just at that age where all my friends are getting married, having babies, or are still going out and partying.

Hope everyone's Month is going by smoothly!
