First Time for Everything!

Sunday, June 07, 2015

So, here's a first: two weeks ago I bought a ton of fruits and veggies. None of them went to waste!! I'm not sure this has ever happened to me before. Does that happen to you too? You go all out and think yes, this is it, and then a little while later you are tossing out stinking, unrecognizable, dead produce. It happened to me all the time. I can't tell you how great it felt to actually run out of food rather than tossing out spoilt food. The other amazing thing is that since May 24 we haven't eaten anything from a restaurant. Everything we've eaten has been homemade by moi. I'm proud of myself and my family for sticking to this. Yes, it's been two weeks, but it's the beginning of a much healthier life.

The added bonus to all of this is that at any given meal my daughter has several healthy, natural choices for her foods. Since she's 8 months old (today!) I feel really proud of myself for building a foundation of healthy food for her.

My husband has been supportive of me going to the gym and watches the baby without complaining while I go out at night. I feel happy these days.

Yay for the supportive hubby! Using all the produce is awesome. I threw away some Romaine but I finished everything else, including a huge bag of kale! Good work girl!
