another day of hospital stress

Monday, June 22, 2015

well, as you know, i was in the hospital in may for a few days, in ICU with heart trouble and a blood clot. Well, last week, on wednesday, my husband had to be admitted with small bowel obstruction. it is monday and he is still there.
Meanwhile, i am trying to avoid animal products like my doctor suggested. This is proving to be more challenging at a hospital than i expected. Everything here either has meat or dairy in it. I am finding myself frustrated and hungry more often than not.
I have a tub of hummus and a can of cashews in my desk at work and some protein bars for emergency. Its been a long couple of months. I can't wait to see what normal is like again.

THANK YOU everyone. The veggies at the hospital are over cooked, and have lots of salt and i think some have fat added. I work at a very country hospital. its exhausting me. this routine. He finally went home late monday. i can't wait for the weekend to rest and regroup.

Oh I hope you both find some relief soon! Are you a salad person? Coleslaw?
Fruit salad? Your snacks are good choices..but I am sure you are wanting something more substantial..
