serenity now!!!

I have eaten like a big fat hog that loves to eat!!!
I cooked for Fathers Day, chicken and dumplings, cornbread, green beans, chicken casserole, chocolate cake!!!!!
then my dad was in the hospital and they had put him on a liquid diet.
I sent alot of it to my father in law.
and we ate the rest.
Only today did we finish off the last of the chicken casserole.
I have walked the last couple of days but I dont think I could walk of all those calories if I walked to China and back three times!!!!
I am so ashamed of myself and yet, it was a moist double chocolate kind of shame!!!
I cannot eat this way but once a year so that means no Fourth of July picnic!
One meal, one meal that becomes three days of leftovers, cannot continue in my life.
why do we do it???
Why is food such a big part of our celebrations of life?? anniversaries, reunions, weddings, etc.
Food.
I need to start some new traditions.
FESTIVAS FOR THE REST OF US!!!

Don't feel ashamed! That only helps the downward spiral. Just make a promise to yourself to do better.

And remember that it is OK to throw away food, if the alternative is eating it when you don't want to (or don't need to)!

Nice rhyme---very catchy. You're right; in popular American culture, food equals relaxing/kicking back/having fun/celebrating. I keep hearing that phrase, "Treat Yo Self." I think it's in reference to shopping, but I can see how that idea has pervaded my relationship with food. All we can all do is start fresh tomorrow. Hang in there.
