I NEED HELP

Thursday, July 16, 2015

Today has been a down day for me...Once again I am struggling with gaining weight...those pounds just keep creeping back....I found some interesting article about weight loss in a site called EVERYDAY LIVING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT...THIS IS PART OF THE ARTICLE.....

exercise helps you lose weight and keep it off — the National Weight Control Registry reports that people who maintain their weight loss exercise for at least 60 minutes most days — but it’s nearly impossible to lose weight from exercise alone, Pettus says. Just do the math: A 135-pound person biking 60 minutes at 12 miles an hour will burn 369 calories. You can put all that back on with just a post-workout protein bar. To lose a pound of fat, you have to burn 3,500 calories more than you consume, so you can see how hard it is to exercise your way through a poor diet. Instead, you have to watch what you eat and exercise, Pettus says. If there’s any “magic” to dieting, it’s in that combination.

SO I NEED TO LEAR THAT NO MATTER HOW MUCH I EXERCISE I WON'T KEEP THIS WEIGHT OFF UNLESS I EAT LESS EVERYDAY

That just doesn't seem fair to me...it's just not fair....BUT WHO SAYS LIFE S FAIR...

OFF I go to try and control my addiction to food...I love it all the good the yummy and the not so good...I love food....

What do you do to stop yourself from over eating.??....someday I just can't seem to help myself... emoticon

Hugs to ya, Kitt! It does seem like an endless battle sometimes. You're doing a wonderful job, though -- one day at a time, one step at a time, one bite at a time...you are doing it! Keep up the good work, girlfriend!

Kitt, I have days when I could eat bark off trees! I don't know what it is. I just do the best I can every day and if I don't measure up to expectation, then there is always tomorrow. It does depress me and doesn't seem fair to see others wolfing down every thing in site and not gaining an ounce. In a way that's a good thing because at least it helps keep my numbers on the low side when I have my bloodwork. emoticon

Kitt, try not to let it get you down. You have lost a tremendous amount of weight, and that is indeed a great accomplishment. I'm sure the stress that your worry is adding is not helping your body to work as efficiently as it should. If you are exercising, drinking water, and tracking your food, that's what got you where you are - so many pant sizes smaller. Just keep doing it. We all gain and lose - as for me, I keep gaining and losing the same 10 pounds!

Maybe check to see the kinds of foods you are eating...carbs, sugars & fats create CRAVINGS. When I have any sweets, I will crave that taste over & over until I distract myself by ANYTHING ELSE...You are a GREAT sparker...reach out to others as you are doing...in the midst of a craving...portions are another possibility to weight gain...in the summer the extra additives whether they be salad dressings, toppings, frozen desserts & BBQ burgers all raise those carbs...fill up on the fruit & veggies...Today I was extra hungry this afternoon, even after my snack so I had 20 sweet cherries...that covered me until dinner. Also eating every few hours with SMALL meals helps to not overeat during breakfast & lunch & dinner...Don't forget that H20 as a filler too. These are all the things I tell MYSELF when I am leaning over my calorie boundary...BTW. I am an avid counter!

I am losing very slowly because I too love food! All food.... The good, the bad, the ugly! What I do is measure it all. If I need (that is how it feels) potato chips I will measure out an ounce and that is all I will eat and then track, track, track! I track it all too whether I go over my limits or not! I track to learn! Eat less move more seems simple enough, but it never is simple! You are not alone and I hope you can take some comfort and cheer in that! But, I also use distraction techniques to stay away from the food.... A 10 min. workout, playing with the dog, getting on SP to ask for help like you did! We can do this.... Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder!!
