this ol foot of mine

Monday, July 20, 2015

Have really been trying to avoid this, but if things dont change, I am going to have to make an appointment with a podiatrist. Which to me is really a waste of time. They will send me to have a new pair of custom orthotics made, which are these hard pieces of foam or plastic or whatever they are made of and they are hard and unyielding and offer support, but no spring, no comfort.
I have two pairs that are in really good condition and my foot is still hurting.
I have been browsing online for some sort of good gel insert, but have found nothing that I think suits my needs.
Everyone says its plantar fascialitis and maybe they are right.
But the pain is right in the heel of my foot, about an inch in, and about the size of a nickel.
It feels like I am walking right on the bone, no cushion.
No matter what shoes or inserts I wear.
It is sore like someone hit that area with a ballpen hammer.
Well, I walked nearly half an hour this morning, but the last two laps were painful so I had to quit.
I am going to start focusing more on weights and your good ol timey toe touches and such lol.
As long as my foot is in this condition any real hard core calorie burning walk is out of the question and I really dont want to put extra use on it for just a stroll.
Trying to stay in control of my eating habits, especially while getting such little exercise.
And that is about it for the day.

Ugh, I'm so sorry. Fasciitis is not fun! I hope you find relief soon.

I'm wondering about a sports medicine doctor. That's where I went after a major fall 5 years ago (ok, after the ER). I thought, "Uh, I'm no athlete! A sports medicine doc.?" But she was great and really helped.

I wish you the best....I had a heel spur in my right foot and took over a year to heal. Now....my left foot...is more like Planters...and that is going on 6 months..but it is improving. I had to stop walking in order for it to get better. I feel your pain.

I had a heel spur give me pain once. Felt like someone had put a tack in my shoe, point side up, and I was stepping on it all the time. I went to a podiatrist and he made me an orthotic that was soft, molded to my feet, and solved the pain problem. I had tried the gel things you buy at the store, but all they did was drag my socks into the shoe, which made it worse.

people have suggested that to me. i really dont know what the problem is, but it just feels like the bone is rubbing the ground when i walk, very sore and totally different than anything i have had so far. nothing like plantar fascia. i have dealt with that for awhile and this feels different.

I had to have a cortisone injection, and it has made all the difference in the work. I'm guessing that was about 30 years ago, and I've never had to have another one. Good luck!!
