"The Writing Diet", etc

I started reading the book "The Writing Diet", which there is also a team by the same name that I joined. So far it's fabulous! I think I've read the first 4 chapters/tools and it makes so much sense for me, and it's quick and easy to read so far. It's making me remember how I've felt doing the recommended things (like morning journaling, taking a walk by yourself, etc) so I think I'm really going to like this method.
For instance, a 20-min walk is called for. But even as little as 5 minutes if you are SUPER pressed for time, or think you are anyway. I know I need to do that, and you would think that doing it for my health would be enough motivation, but it often isn't for some reason. BUT since the author (who also wrote The Artist's Way)came upon these things as a means to creativity, not weight loss (just noticed that happening too) she points out the benefits you notice when you use the "tools". How walking helps you clear your mind, solve problems, helps inspiration and creativity come to you, almost like a meditation. Just taking a few minutes for yourself to get up and move, alone, can be awesome in so many different ways. I try to walk for fitness, I take my son. I try to walk for creativity, I walk alone. I think BOTH each day would be fabulous. A walk with him and then later, or when school starts after he gets on the bus, a walk by myself.
This morning, motivated by the book, I woke up early, grabbed a glass of water, my notebook and pen, and my nook and headed outside. I did my morning journaling, the results of which were already really cool, drank my water, did a little more reading, then ate a healthy breakfast. then I got on the treadmill for 20 minutes. With about 5 minutes left my son woke up and came to find me. I just asked for a few minutes alone to finish up, then made him breakfast and we did a bunch of cleaning. Now I'm at work with him for a bit along with my nephew who's sleeping over tonight. They're about 3 years apart and get along quite well :) Tonight should be fun!
I better get going, but I think the writing diet book could be beneficial to anyone. It's simple but really gets straight to the things that can have a huge impact. So maybe check out the team (you can find it on my page of course) if you are so inclined :) Oh and it should be noted, it can be used alongside any eating plan. :) I'm looking forward to reading more!
Oh! weigh in day! well...the scale showed I was up a little from wednesday when I weighed on a whim. Here's my plan since I know I had a salty dinner last night - I'm not changing my weight up right now. I'll leave it at wednesday's weight since it's likely temporary. But WHATEVER my weight is this next friday, I will change. That's my plan! ;)
