A Day Of Rest

If you read my blog yesterday, you know that we had our 8 and 3 year-old Grand-daughters for the day and overnight. It was a VERY HOT and HUMID day, so we started out with the water park. It was very crowded but we each took one of the girls and didn't let them out of our sight for a second. My worst nightmare would be if something happened to either of them on our watch!!! I really like this water park, because it is very clean; there are several life-guards at each level of the pool and slides; and they break for about 20 minutes at the end of each hour so that the kids can go to the shaded areas and rest or grab a snack. We stayed for about 3 hours and then brought the girls back to our home so that Nola could take a nap. But.........not before stopping for ice cream at the little Drive-In Restaurant. We had to eat very quickly as they melted fast in the heat. After we put Nola down for a nap, Elizabeth and I played with one of her favorite American Girl activities........a paper doll set for one of her dolls that went along with the movie costumes. We can't play with that set if Nola is with us, as she is just too small to play with all of the tiny pieces. By the time we were finished playing, Nola was awake and we ate a light supper. Neither of the girls are very big on eating much for supper so we had fresh fruit and some veggies and a light dip. I had bought some peaches at a Stand on Thursday and they were absolutely delicious. After supper, we watched a movie and wound down after a very busy day. We were all in bed and sound asleep by 10.
This morning I put both girls in the tub and washed their hair. Then they dressed and picked up their toys and packed their clothes so they would be ready when their parents arrived. We had a brunch ready for them and after they left.................we decided that whatever we do today..............it will be laid back and restful. We are TIRED!!!!!
