Watch out

Just a friendly warning, I have a problem with SP pages slow to load, now normally it is not a problem but it is a pain. If you think the page has loaded and click where you want to go and it end up an an advert or in the forums back to the wall. You then have to start all over a gain. Now I for one find it a pain but as most of us put up with it......

Yesterday I stopped getting emails from SP and thought it was something to do with my ISP. Having spent the last 12 or so hours looking at everything and not finding anything I went to my account page. At first sight everything seemed ok. I thought I would change something and see what happened.

When I went to the bottom of the page to save and exit there was a tick in the box "never email me again". Now I had not done this. Yesterday I had been on that page and with the slow loading caught that box on exiting the page.

Having checked out my computer all seem fine, so I think it is just a lot on members on when I am.

Just be careful where you click or at least remember where you have been.

That would be a problem! I'm glad you got that straightened out. Is it better, now that you've got a premium account? I think my pages are loading faster now.

I've been going through absolute h**l with my current laptop - switching browsers *constantly* and STILL having occasional issues - though Chrome has been "behaving" a bit better the past few days.........sigh.........computers - can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em - oops - actually, someone *did* recently (somewhere in Texas, I think - over a child's attitude and bad use of FB, I believe)........

Glad you figured things out Trev! I think even with pop-up blocker settings on to combat most of the ads this site can be deathly slow and it gets a little frustrating at times. I try to get on overnight in my time zone and use Firefox as my browser, it seems to work a lot better than Internet Explorer!

There are times when I have trouble with blog subscriptions. When I get an email for a member's blog, the link in not active. It is necessary to go to the blog subscriptions and access it that way. It's a pain, but there are some posts I read daily.

Glad you found the solution to your problem. emoticon

emoticon emoticon I just switched in windows 10....from win8.1....
I'm flying through sparkpages today- I don't know if it's windows 10 or just less congestion online at the moment.... there were days in July I simply logged off due to frustrating long scripts hanging up sparkpages through advertisements.

During the course of the day I may use three different computers - a lap top in my home and two different business computers in two different locations. And they all respond differently. The lap top is the slowest - so slow.

Just remember to keep logging your nutrition, water and exercise and get the most out of the SparkPeople program that you can. The whole idea is to lose or control your weight.

Congratulations to you for all that you do to help make yourself more healthy.

SP has been a bit slow for me at times in the last few days as well. It also unchecks things for me, not too often. I think the speed problem results from heavy usage. The site is free, so I am forgiving. When WW, which I pay for, or Fitbit, where you have to buy the device, messes up, I am all over them. 😊
