I am so afraid

California is burning. This must be HELL. We have 23 fires going right now, and there are so many who are threatened by the flames.. It must be hell. No matter what we have done, no matter what we have promised or committed to.. there is no way that so many can come out of it untouched by the demon of fire. My thoughts and prayers.. my hopes and thoughts for all of them. I don't know what I can do except pray. And pray I will. You can prep.. you can prepare and yet when the heat draws it's breath above you, you don't know that what you are doing is right for the moment. Your 'go bag' is not enough.. Your hoses and water shares are not enough. Everything you thought you had prepared for.. was not enough.. Who do you call, what can you do.. often not enough. The fear strikes and panic sets in, even if you have prepared, it is not enough..Panic is inevitable. what should you take or leave, your photos, your papers, your pets ..should you wait for your friends, your neighbors.what is important now? Our priorities are challenged. it is not enough that we lost those pounds, that we exercised our asses off.. that we ate healthy foods.. that we thought we were ready for anything. There is no time now, for meditating, for redemption, for preparation. The heat, the fire and the inevitable are within reach. May those of us, or friends and family that are under these circumstances be protected by a power greater than us. That we may see tomorrow.. In a light that we trust.
