Going through the storm at Concord Hospital
Thursday, August 20, 2015
The staff at Concord Hospital helped me through a very tough time, and I am so thankful!
For a while, I did not know if my wonderful, strong husband would be okay. I did not know what to do, walking into the medical center, trying to find him, knowing that he had a TIA (mini stroke) and was laying in a hospital bed. Concord Hospital is well organized, and someone took me to his room. I am still in shock over all that transpired over the last 30 hours.
Now that the storm is past, and we are back home, I can see how well the staff and volunteers work together to keep everyone safe through the trials of life. I am thankful for the woman who guided me up to the room, the nurse who explained everything to me, and the nurse who answered my questions at 2 am. No one ever complained when I said; "no, I am not going to leave the hospital. I will sleep in the waiting room if I have to." They seemed to understand.
I came home with a strong husband, who suffered no loss from the stroke. There's a change in medications, and he is making some small changes in his lifestyle. Thank God for a wake up call. Thank God for Concord Hospital!
