Son#2 buys an airplane!

Friday, August 21, 2015

another weekend!----Hopefully I can get some grass cut----
Cutting grass does give one many steps-----
I made it to the 6000 steps yesterday----
I had tried for 7000--but----"life" sorta got in the way---
To-day, I shall aim for 6250----
That "shaky leg syndrome" is never there, with sufficient exercise.

This is son #2, the Air Canada Pilot's airplane---
He just bought it and has been taking lessons on flying it-----

He usually flies the Airbus 320-----
To-day he is in the Simulator at the Airport---
Pilots have to go there every 6 months and snow storms, engine failures, smoke in the cockpit--etc etc--- are thrown at them, and they have to cope---
One day, he will fly his wee aircraft up here----He says it will be a 2 hr flight , rather than a 6 hr drive----
Lord love a Duck!------Of course I shall worry!

I wouldn't waste time worrying about Son #2 flying that smaller aircraft, Lynda. Now, if one of the other sons decided that they would like to do the same, a bit of concern would rear up in me. It is just that Son #2 has such wonderful flying experience under his belt. He'll do just fine - I feel sure about that!

My beloved MrV used to program flight simulation cockpits for the US Marines - it was his all time favorite position during his work-a-day life. He only gave it up because it took him away from the family too often. Anyway, the fun part was that he got to "fly" & had a grand time doing so. emoticon

God bless Son #2 in all his travels & give you peace of mind as he does so!

Worry... it's what we moms do, right? Hang in there!

Good for son #2! Of course you will worry, you are a good Mom. But he is an experienced pilot and statistically there are more chances to get hurt in a car accident...
Be grateful he did not decide to get a motor bike...

We always worry, but of course, 6 hour drives are full of potential for disaster as well! Love the pictures, make me smile. Hope you have a good weekend! --Pam

Probably the chances are higher for accidents in cars instead of planes and being a trained pilot already makes it that much more a safer mode of travel. Cutting down his travel time means he'll likely be able to spend more time with you - these are all good positives - so don't give into that worry that comes so natural to us women LOL!

Yep I'd worry - but maybe he'll take you up in it for a spin!

Congratulations and best wishes to Son #2. Will you have to drive far to pick him up at an airport? I hope he has wonderful flights and additional and/or longer visits with you and Himself. It's good to hear you are able to getting in all those steps. Have a great weekend!

Mothers always worry... It goes with the territory. Just think how much more often he can visit if it's only 2 hours instead of 6! Will you go up with him?

With the new airplane, you may see him more frequently? Parents always worry about their kids, no matter how big they are. Have a great weekend, Lynda!

A comment on here was about parents cheering and worrying - you're a good parent Lynda, you do both. But think of the time saved for your son when he comes for a visit and think about how much safer it is in the sky than on the roads!! Son #2 is a good pilot, and you just may see him more often.

You did good with the steps, girl, way to go!

I agree with you. That would be something that I too would worry about and I am not a worrier. BUT your son is an experienced pilot so less worry to worry about than if he was not. I bet he is happy with it.

Finally Friday after a long, long week that seemed like it would never end.

Have a great weekend!! Get those steps in!!! emoticon

    What do parents do?

    They CHEER & WORRY....

    Sometimes one,
    and sometimes the other,
AND sometimes both at the same time !!

Woke to rain here in my corner of the world. Thankfully it seems to be coming down slow & easy enough to be mostly sinking into the parched earth. The brown patches in my grassy areas should be greening up soon. The flower beds.... I am not holding out much hope for them.

I have a poster that says...
Worry is a real waste of time.
    It doesn't change anything.
All it does is steal your joy
and keeps you very busy doing nothing.

I have to work at not worrying, too !
    Have a great day.

P.S. The poster was real cute, but this system doesn't allow me to share the picture here. Sorry.
