In pursuit of staying power

It took 15 long years to lose 100 pounds and it will take the rest of my life to keep it off permanently. But that is a challenge I welcome now, instead of fear! For the first time ever, I think maintaining my weight loss is possible, because for the first time ever, I'm pursuing a healthy way of life, and not just a diet. I love to watch health and weight loss documentaries, and am learning all I can about nutrition. For the first time, my appetite is decreasing naturally as I become smaller, and that's how it should be! I no longer have the mentality that causes me to shovel in all the goodies I can today, because tomorrow I will be starting over . I don't have do-overs anymore, I have continuances. Every day is part of my life and no day is excluded or forgotten because I ate too much. I've been working on this all of my life, and it took me all these decades to finally get a handle on it. But now that I finally got it, I 'm not letting go! emoticon
