Crazy couple of days!!

Saturday, August 22, 2015

So I have been failing at one of my goals : daily blogging!! The last couple of days were crazy but successful in my eyes! emoticon Thursday we had an emergency colic come in at 4:30 so we were there with that until close to 8 = 13 hour school day. I went out for a couple (3) beers with one of my rotation mates I was on the island with. I stayed within calorie goal, drank all of my water but missed my 30 min of exercise.

Yesterday was another long day at school from 7am-11:30PM b/c of equine ICU duties. My boyfriend and I were there together because he just so happened to be on food animal ICU. emoticon I asked him earlier in the day what he was thinking about for dinner and he mentioned not worrying about eating healthy and ordering Jimmy Johns (subs) or pizza emoticon Although pizza sounded AMAZING I told him I've been doing so good with staying on track I think I'll just grab a TV dinner from home and he can order whatever he wants!! emoticon He ended up with a sub and I had a 310 cal LC ravoli! So yesterday I stayed within calorie goal, took the pups for a walk on lunch, drank my water and had no alcohol!

I missed yoga the past 2 days but just did those 2 workouts!!! Sorry for all of the exclamation points - feeling kind of proud! The first was a core which wasn't as bad as the abs but still challenging and then a lower back workout for day 6 which was much more relaxing emoticon

We have had LOUD thunder storms last night and today which wasn't any fun for my Jake dog. When we got home last night he was majorly stressed/panting/pacing so I gave him some of his anti-anxiety (I call them "thunder pills" LOL b/c that is usually the only time he gets them) which didn't really touch him so I was prob up until about 2 petting him trying to get him to settle down. Then at 7:45 this morning an even BIGGER storm came crashing through and Jake was struggling again. It left as soon as it came and now is sunny and bright. Our friend Mike invited us out on his boat but Charlie is on call so he doesn't want to head out (even thought it's only appx 15 min from school - he could still make it if he got called in!!!) Soooo I understand how he feels butttt the boat just sounds so fun!

The power was out this morning so Charlie talked me into Old School Bagel Cafe which is a huge weakness of mine! (I could have had yogurt which would have not required power...) but I got an everything bagel with veggie cc, lettuce, tomato, onion and carrots - YUM! I was full after 1/2 because they are HUGE so I put the rest in the fridge and will have it when I get hungry again. We took a 40 min walk with the pups after the storms and the breeze was beautiful.

So all in all still hanging in there! There were certainly some choices I could have improved on but hey - I'm a work in progress. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

you made great choices! Really hope Jake is calmer today. Bingley usually hides in the closet during big storms.

I type with a lot of exclamation points as well!!! LOL Don't be sorry about it because I feel it helps your excitement and feeling come across to readers. If they don't like it then they can read a stoic persons blog!!! LOL LOL LOL Plus you should be proud because you did fantastic! Way to go!

You're doing great! It's all about progress and doing your best each day, which sounds to me like you're succeeding! I would be using a lot of exclamation points as well if I were you because getting your workout in anyway is awesome :)

You are doing a super job! It's those challenging days that make us the most proud of limiting our calories and maintaining activities. emoticon
