Just a quick note to report on my progress on the ketogenic diet. First, it's more of a lifestyle than a diet. It's changed the way I look at food. I no longer think of food all day long, no more obsessing about what I'll have for my next meal or having eaten all my "points" or calories for the day. I eat when I'm hungry and don't stop until I'm satisfied. I eat real food, not processed "diet" food. No lo-cal or sugar free for me. Just real food. Eggs scrambled in butter with a side of bacon for breakfast. If I'm hungry for lunch, sometimes a fried chicken thigh (skin on, of course) and some veggies with butter drizzled on them. Dinner might be keto pizza, ribeye steak or meatloaf with veggies with butter or salad (full fat dressing). I snack on string cheese or olives. So I'm not suffering or starving. I AM losing!! But I also have more energy, am more clear headed and my inflammation is just gone! No more joint pain for over a month now!! Those are some other side effects of the ketogenic "diet." It has many health benefits. The weight loss is slow for me, but then it took years to put it on. But last week I lost 1.8 lbs and another 2 lbs this week. So it's a healthy amount to lose. And it will stay off. I think I'll remain with the keto lifestyle even when I reach my goal weight, because I don't want to go back to joint pain, memory problems or the way I used to feel. It's a lifestyle change, and for me, it's a life saving change!

    Isn't it amazing? I love it!!! I really believe this would work for a lot of people and they could get off that endless cardio, constant hunger, cravings, and binges.

    My breakfast is usually an avocado, 2 hardboiled eggs, chopped black olives, all mixed together with homemade mayo; and lunch is broccoli and squash sauteed in butter with some grass-fed ground beef sauteed in coconut oil, garlic olive oil, sesame oil and seasoned with more garlic and some chopped pecans on top.

    I usually only want one snack, and right now it's 2 toasted pecan halves with butter mixed with maple extract and sweetened with xylitol sandwiched in between. I freeze them and they make a tasty candy bite that reminds me of waffles with syrup and pecans.

    Keto is the best!

    How wonderful that you have found something that works for you! I think there is way too much emphasis put on "diets". I don't use that word! We have to eat to live. Why not just do it healthy. Eating when we are hungry and quitting when we are not is a great approach! Keep up the good work and best wishes to you!
