So my husband (who's also into this fitness thing) has been wanting to buy a new treadmill and take our old one to the mountain house so we will have something to workout on when the weather is bad.
He found one on Craig's List that a lady was anxious to get rid of. She bought this "Cadillac" of a treadmill and didn't really have anyplace to put it and didn't have time to get on it. She only turned it on twice! (Those are her excuses, not mine. Boy, if I had spent that much money on a treadmill I would be on it day and night!!) Anyway she sold it to us for a song. So now I have this new ProForm treadmill and it's I Fit compatible. I didn't know what I Fit was until I looked it up. For $99 a year (a whole lot less than the money I saved on this treadmill) we can get access to all of these workouts. The way it works, you pick a workout, say running in Central Park. You start the workout on your treadmill and while you work out you are seeing where you are going on the (I Pad in my case) screen. When the trail goes up, the treadmill automatically inclines to adjust to what you are seeing on the screen! How cool is that? There are a ton of workouts to choose from. I've already made a list of things I want to do like:
Tour the Castles of Europe
Tour the beaches of Hawaii
Hike the trails of the Grand Canyon
to name a few. You can also create your own workouts. You can also take on challenges and see how you rank amongst other I Fit users.
Anyway I think this is going to be really cool! I had to order the I Fit module and will start my journeys as soon as it comes. You can check out a video ad for I Fit and learn more at IFit.com. If any of you use this technology, maybe our paths will cross somewhere!
