September 7, 2015 THOSE WHO ARE WISE
It’s understandable to make mistakes when we don’t understand something or know how it works. It’s excusable to mess up a few times when we are starting something new. However, when we know the truth and continue to do wrong, we are acting foolishly. It is said the definition of an idiot is someone doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. When we continue to live our way rather than God’s way, we will never be wise nor will we ever truly understand His truths.
Hosea 14:9 “Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.” (NLT)
Hosea 14:9 “Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.” (KJV)
Dear Lord, we know Your word is true and right. We know You only want what is best for us. Help us to seek Your way and not our own. Help us to listen carefully to what You command us to do and understand. We want to do right yet when we are tempted we go the wrong path. Help us to be strong in Your word and be faithful to Your commands. We want to begin practicing them today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we continue to choose our own path in life, we are telling God we don’t need Him.
Those who are wise seek God’s word and obey His commands.
What God tells us in His word is true and right. He knows what we need and when we need it.
Since we know God’s way is true and right, why do we continue to go our own way?
When we are faithful to God’s truth, we are living in obedience to Him.
Leviticus 22:31 “You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.” (NLT)
Focus: If we want the truth, we need to get into God’s word.
