September 17, 2015 THOSE WHO ENJOY EVIL

When we think about those who enjoy doing evil, we think perhaps about those who are murdering, stealing, etc. However, all sin is evil. The little lie. The selfish acts. The small items taken from work or school. Even what we do in our homes that is not about God is wrong. The show we watch. The attitude we have. Everything. Every action we take has an equal and opposite reaction. There is someone we are influencing by our actions. When we sin and they see, we are hurting them as well. All sin is an act of disobedience to God. We should live by God’s truth in the little and big things and know we are to obey Him in all things.

Matthew 5:19 “So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.” (NLT)

Matthew 5:19 “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (KJV)

Dear Lord, help us to recognize what wrong is in our lives. We can better recognize our wrongs when we focus on Your word and Your truths. We want to be obedient to You in all things. We want to examine our lives from morning until night to ensure what we are doing is bringing You glory and not disobeying You. Show us what we need to change and give us the strength to change it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We can better recognize our wrongs when we focus on God’s truths.

Those who enjoy evil can be doing the smallest wrong. There is no sin size in God’s eyes.

All sin is an act of disobedience to God.

When we enjoy the ways of the world rather than focusing on God’s truths, we are disobeying Him.

Those who enjoy evil will one day be judged for even the smallest sin.

2 Thessalonians 2:12 “Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.” (NLT)

Focus: We should study God’s truths, obey His word and turn from any wrong in our lives.
