My Reasons to Quit Sugar

Monday, September 21, 2015

I have a tendency to forget things - I forget how awful sugar makes me feel (during those few times I've managed to cut it out, I'll start to feel great and think I can eat sugar again).

Sugar makes me cranky and probably at least low-level depressed. I'm convinced it makes my KNEES HURT more, which makes it harder for me to walk more or take stairs more. It also makes me crave more sugar (vicious cycle), and lately, crave more sugar/fat too (pinging back and forth between sweet and salty snacks and overeating). I'm sure there are other effects so I'll need to edit this and add to it. :)

My goal is to replace sugar with healthier options, like fruit. Instead of a candy bar, have a piece of fruit or a handful of berries. Drink some water too because it could also be that I'm slightly dehydrated.

Also, I clearly need to increase my monthly fitness minutes goal. Hurray!! emoticon

How's this going? I quit sugar just in the last week for the same reasons.

I agree. DQ Heath Blizzard (specifically) alters my mood - soothing or reward - to point of craving. I'm on Day 2 of 21 day Tame Sweet Tooth Challenge on SP website. Informative quiz is very helpful. Check it out!
