I love having good days.

Well, who doesn't?

With the beginning of fall yesterday (unfortunately our weather is NOT cooperating), and the realization that there were exactly 100 days left in 2015, I decided to jump on a bandwagon and do a 100 day countdown. For whatever reason that appealed to me and motivated me.

The theme for this 100 day journey is: Using my days wisely and making them count.

I gave this a lot of thought, and decided not just to focus on nutrition and exercise. Actually my main goal simply is to make my days count. Another word for this might be living much more intentional. I realized that so much of what I do is mechanical or routine.

At this point I have decided to focus on several things. Since I am still reading "Lose the Clutter, Lose the Weight", I want to get rid of 1 item every day (donating, recycle or trash), I also want to work on 1 project every day. Some of my projects have been sitting for a very long time, others really should not take very long. Finally I want to make a difference in someone's life every day. This can be as simple as a text, a phone call, or getting together.

In addition I will choose an inspirational thought daily, write down 1 thing I am grateful for, and track my spending.

All of this I will keep track of in a notebook entitled "My 100 Day Journey to Improving my Life".

I realize I am actually not focusing on losing weight, but I believe once I am more intentional about my every day living, other things will fall into place.

It really feels good to be back doing what I want to do and what I need to do.

YOU MAY NOT BE FOCUSING ON LOSING WEIGHT, BUT I BET YOU WILL STILL LOSE. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END THE YEAR. MOST OF US DO THIS AS A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION. BUT YOU ARE GETTING A HEAD START ON US. GREAT IDEA!

Great ideas! I may borrow a couple of them! Since I share my home with my adult children as well as my grandchildren the de-clutter must be kept to my private space but it will still help! I do try to do something supportive for someone each day even if it's just to speak a kind word to a stranger when out! Anyway I think you have a great hold on the things that may be holding you down!

I love all of it!! Especially that you are keeping a journal then afterward you can go back and read about what really worked for you!! I totally agree that if you focus on more "intentional" living the rest will follow. Although I may not be as dedicated in the entire effort you are putting forth I will try as well to live "intentionally" and put my best food forward. emoticon

I am not a clutter "bug," but I ALWAYS take away an item of clothing if I bought something new to replace it. IF I purchase two pieces, I get rid of two items and so on…I always do this and it keeps my closet not only organized, but up to date.
